Just last Shabbat, our Hillel family enjoyed a much deserved year-end celebration. While taking time to stop and appreciate a wonderful Shabbat dinner, our students reflected on the holy moments of the year gone by.
“A highlight of the year was sharing Martin Luther King Jr.’s final speech, to a crowd of peers and community members, during the 50th anniversary commemoration last month. I enjoyed organizing and speaking on a panel during our annual Soul Food Shabbat. I’m looking forward to leading Hillel during my senior year next year. I am excited to return and share my experience of traveling through central Europe.”
Noah, Class of 2019
“I enjoyed celebrating Rosh Hashana and Passover with my Queens Hillel family and coming together and celebrating as a community.”
Roni, Class of 2020
“I enjoyed the Passover Seder and spending time with community rabbis during our synagogue visits.” Josh, Class of 2019
“The most memorable moment this year for me was attending the first anniversary of the Stan Greenspon Center for Peace and Social Justice in the Chapel when Father Patrick Desbois addressed the crowd. It was extremely moving. Having the support of Rabbi Judy and Talli meant so much to me.” Jasmine, Class of 2020
We are going to miss our Hillel family over the summer but look forward to seeing everyone in a few months!
