Deepening our understanding of restorative justice for Charlotte. Expanding our coalition. Mapping out the steps ahead.
Please join us as we continue our exploration of the tragedy of the destruction of the Brooklyn neighborhood, the challenges of the currently proposed Brooklyn Village mixed-use development, and what restorative justice might look like for what happened to Brooklyn and its former inhabitants.
The following organizations have joined us in our efforts: Charlotte Clergy Coalition for Justice, the NAACP, Black Men with a Purpose, Carolina Jews for Justice, OneMECK, the YWCA of Central Carolinas, the Stan Greenspon Center for Peace and Social Justice, The Lionel Lee Jr. Center for Wellness, Harvesting Humanity, and Myers Park Baptist Church, Housing Services Network, The Black Presbyterian Clergy Caucus of Charlotte and the Unity Fellowship Church Movement.
We will meet at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Tryon Street (free parking in parking deck on 9th St.), on Tuesday evening, December 3 (Hors d’oeuvres and Conversation at 6:00 pm; Program from 6:30 – 8:00 pm). Please invite others who might be interested to join us that evening. Click here to learn more about our work.
