Spring is in the air, and it brings with it a sense of renewal! We offer you opportunities to engage with us in learning at our monthly Wine and Wisdom, our third anniversary program addressing Cyber hate and how to combat it, or at an Evening with Dr. Eger.

Join us at an upcoming Wine and Wisdom gathering at Selwyn Pub. Join Rabbi Judy for study and socializing. Bring a friend, grab a glass of iced tea or wine, and enjoy learning more about the Torah and ways in which it can touch and lift our lives.

This is a casual and relaxing event with a little something for everyone. Spaces are limited so sign up today!  Come to one session or come to all. Upcoming sessions:

March 18th- Gratitude & Compassion
April 22nd- Equanimity & Honor
May 6th- Simplicity & Silence
June 3rd- Generosity & Truth
July (TBD)- Moderation & Loving kindness
August (TBD)- Responsibility & Trust

Thanks to the Lenora Stein Community Creative Learning Grant, Queens Hillel has been able to offer “At our Table” Shabbat and Holiday Experience this academic year. Many of our most transformative moments have been around our Shabbat table. By inviting guests, learning from them and from each other, and sharing traditions and wisdom we are all enriched.

So far, our shared meals have been a huge success. We hosted a Women’s Empowerment Sukkah Sabbat, a Soul Food Shabbat and an Art Shabbat. Each of these programs were run by students, who gained valuable leadership experience. We are looking forward to welcoming you to an upcoming Shabbat At our Table.

And speaking of Shabbat…have you heard about our new tradition? Roz and Marty’s TGIF Challah Giveaway? Our students line up for homemade challah and love to learn from and engage with our Hillel students. Thank you to Roz Greenspon and Marty Birnbaum for their generosity.

And what goes perfect with challah???  Mimi’s Homemade Matzo Ball Soup giveaway sponsored by the Gorelick Family. Students show up in droves on soup day and this new tradition has become something that the campus community, students and faculty, can’t live without!
