Jewish Heritage North Carolina along with the Stan Greenspon Holocaust and Social Justice Education Center presents “Understanding our Past. Celebrating our Present. Visioning our Future: Jacobs-Jaffa Charlotte Jewish Heritage Tours”

Virtual presentation: Sunday, January 23, 4:00 to 5:00 pm

This virtual session will be led by Charlotte’s Jewish Heritage tour creators and facilitators, Susan Jacobs, Roz Cooper, and Rabbi Judy Schindler. Join us to hear what motivated us to start this initiative and our top ten tips for getting this tour off the ground. Come and discover some of the powerful Jewish civic, business, religious, and philanthropic personalities who built the Charlotte Jewish and secular community. You will hear stories that can’t be found in history books. We will truly shine a light on the uniqueness of Charlotte’s 165 years of Jewish history.

This Zoom event is free, but requires registration: https://jccfed.wufoo.com/forms/past-present-future/

Our in-person Jacobs-Jaffa Charlotte Jewish Heritage Tour, provides unique, engaging, entertaining and educational hike through our city’s history. The experience includes a tour of the Hebrew Cemetery that was founded in 1867 and is rich with stories of the famous Jews who are buried there, from the Civil War to the Civil Rights era to today. We explore historic sites that highlight Jewish contributions to our county and state, as we uncover the pluralistic and powerful Jewish community that thrives in Charlotte today.
