Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Between the World and Me Book Discussion – Two Sessions (July 8th and July 15th)

Date: July 8, 2024

“Between The World and Me is a brutally honest portrayal of the plight of the African-American male in this country. Composed as a letter to his adolescent son, Ta-Nehisi Coates writes with chilling bleakness and precision about racism in America. This is no simple account of racism, but rather a concise attack on a system which has consistently rendered black lives worthless. Incorporating history and personal memoir, Coates has succeeded in creating an essential text for any thinking American today.” – Judges Citation, 2015 National Book Award, National Book Foundation

The Greenspon Center at Queens University and the Charlotte Black/Jewish Alliance are sponsoring a two-session book discussion group led by Jamie Brooks, principal of Ardrey Kell High School. The book discussion sessions will be held at Queens and are free and open to the public.
